Conclusion

Realization of the Sages

The wise know that all union ends in disunion and all earthly gain in loss since no one can take with him anybody or anything when he leaves the body.

As mentioned before, consummation of wisdom is the Knowledge that there is nothing real in this world. The world is a magical scene which disappears at the dawn of true Knowledge.

The wise one who teaches the unreality of the visible world and the reality of the invisible Atman, or the supreme Self, is considered by the ignorant as a madman (pagal). They cannot agree on this subject.

However, the wrong impression of the reality of the world in the mind of a disciple cannot be dissolved without the knowledge of its unreality received from the living lips of his Guru (Guruvaktragamya).

Therein lies the importance of Guru-Param-Para. It is not proper and righteous to learn a spiritual discipline through book-reading and lessons, or from organizational representatives.

Spiritual discipline can only be learned from the “living lips of a Guru” (Guruvaktragamya).
